Invacare Wheelchair

I’m going to Disneyland soon with 8 other family members. One of my family members is in a wheelchair. I was wondering how the wheelchair pass worked and how the wheel chair lines worked. I was also wondering how many people, if any, were permitted to go into the wheelchair line with them. I know at some other amusement parks the entire party was allowed to use the wheelchair line but I haven’t been to Disneyland with a wheelchair before and wanted to figure it out before I went. Let’s say a wheelchair person is able to drive,but does not have a car. How would one travel to work and back? Is it comfortable to use Septa to get to work? I have not seen much wheelchair people doing this. I’m a wheelchair user myself and I need this info, because I will have to think of transportation that will get me to work and back home.

My best friend had complications with childbirth and is now in a wheelchair recovering. She’s not able to use her thigh muscles and stand on her own yet, but is slowly getting better with physical therapy. It is hard for her because her husband has to do everything for the baby (except breastfeed , of course). I’m flying out to visit her and her new family next week and would like to bring her something that may help her cheer up. Any ideas?

The wheelchair is the type in which you only use your hands to move it electronically, as if your hand is controlling it using a joy stick. I don’t know if I’m explaining it well but I need a proper name for it because I’m trying to find some reference pictures but I can’t find any wheelchair pics that use only the hand to control the wheelchair rather than the whole arm such as turning the wheel manually.

A close family friend of mine is paralyzed from the waste down and has been confined to a wheelchair for years. Recently he attended a sporting event in Delaware, and was charged to use an elevator. Despite the fact that the elevator was physically the only way he could get to the handicapped seating, he was charged every time he used it. Is this legal?????

OK, so I want to go as Dr Strangelove, which means I need an old-style unmotorised black leather wheelchair. But most of the wheelchair rental places I’ve found will only rent to people with actual disabilities. Is there anywhere that’ll rent me a wheelchair just for fun?
