Invacare Wheelchair

I don’t have alot of money to spend but am in desperate need of a telescoping wheelchair ramp!
I forgot to mention it has to be 6 ft in length and 26 inches in width and under 0 !

I’d like to buy a wheelchair for my grandmother. But the question is that i have no idea at all how to choose a suitable wheelchair for her. Can anyone give me any advice?

what special features would they need?
i have some examples:
lots of space between desks
things at a low level- bookshelves, door knobs, light switch (can you think of anything else???)
one desk has to be higher so the wheelchair can fit under it

what else?

the question i have for a project is "you are designing a layout for a classroom. design special features that would make the room and equipment suitable for someone in a wheelchair."

Once again I’m having to have wheelchair people over to my house.

What do you do with them? Do you talk about wheelchair things or just talk to them like normal people?

Do I offer to hand them things on high shelves to make them feel better? Do I act interested in the way they got into a wheelchair to make conversation?

Should I offer to push them around outside? Should I act as if I want to someday be in a wheelchair?

I dont know how to make things normal around these people.

This is not meant to be offensive I’m just curios as my friend is in a wheelchair and he told me that it was.

my mom broke her hip and temporarily needs a wheelchair, the problem is they are very very expensive. I am looking for a cheap or free, new or used wheelchair to help her get around. I live in the Greater Seattle area.

I’m building a tank-like robot, and i’m buying a pair of wheelchair motors. I was wondering if these motors require the motor controller that was originally on the wheelchair? I’m going to buy some controllers for the tank (that control the flow of electricity from an input signal given by the remote). Would these controllers need to be linked through the original controller or just to the motors?

I have bought a secondhand manual wheelchair for my daughter and would like it to be serviced/overhauled. One screw has fallen out which I would like replaced and the whole chair looked at. Who do I try? She lives in Highams Park near Walthamstow.

One purposely rode her wheels across my toes. And she’s quite a fat wheelchair-person. Aren’t disabled people supposed to be polite in the same way that ugly people need personalities to survive in society? I mean, I like disabled people, but only the happy non-violent ones.

This would be for my 80 year old dad who now requires 24-hour care and needs assistance transferring from the wheelchair.

My grandparents are looking into buying a vehicle. My grandfather now uses a wheelchair. They really don’t want to have to buy a van. We all love the Santa Fe’s, but we’re wondering if anyone knows if you can put a lift in the back of them? Thanks.

Would I be able to get on any of the rides for example? What about the kids? They are not exactly tall for their ages (12 yr old is same height as 8 yr old). Plus, is it worth the price? What about the water park near salou? Would 2 wheelchair users be allowed in at same time?

I am wanting to use wheelchair motors to pull a remote control lawn mower up hills and through ditches. I bought a used wheelchair and even drove it around to make sure the motors worked before I took it all apart. Electric motors normally have a positive and negative power input. However, these motors have two small white wires also. What are they for? And, do I need to use them for anything?

I’m in a wheelchair and lately every time I sit at the computer my arms and legs fall asleep constantly. It’s so annoying and uncomfortable. I was just wondering if there was a way to prevent this from happening so much? Maybe a certain position to sit in? I move around in my seat a lot but nothing works. Or ways to make the tingling feeling go away faster? Is there any medication that can be taken to make blood circulation flow better?

Yes, I would like money to help my family out, but there is something to be said for ‘that warm fuzzy feeling" of giving.

I am wheelchair bound and would love to be able to get myself into shape and maybe have a six pack or flatten midriff. I can not walk at all and I also cant stand or support my body weight on my legs. Any advice would be very much appreciated. – From fitness people please.

I have an ankle sprain and I have crutches. Hotel, dinner show and Orlando tickets were bought in advance so I can’t cancel. So I will have to rent. But my parents are 72 and 76 years old. Can they push me in the wheelchair? I was never in a wheelchair, will I get tired to roll the wheels myself? If a wheelchair will make my parents too tired, then I should rent a ECV instead. But if it’s not necessary, I rather save money and take the wheelchair.

I was in a horrible 3 car accident over the summer (not caused by me) and I ended up with 4 fractures in my pelvis, and in a wheelchair for 6 weeks. It feels like I gained a lot of weight and I don’t feel comfortable with my body anymore, but I was just wondering, six weeks in a wheelchair, is it likely you gain a little to a lot of weight?

Nowhere does the Americans with Disabilities Act (that I can find) list a wheelchair as being a piece of furniture (like a desk or table) but rather, only as a mobility device. Furthermore, no furniture stores carry wheelchairs.

I am a teaching student and I’m writing a paper on inclusion of students who are disabled. My student is wheelchair bound and I have to figure out a way to include her in a lesson about pedometers ~ any ideas?
